Mind Over Matter is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting pediatric and adult cancer patients in Austin, Texas. We create and deliver custom chemo care kits tailored to each patient's unique needs, packed with essentials that bring comfort, dignity, and hope during treatment.
Our Story
Mind Over Matter was founded by Charlie Heras, who lost his father to brain cancer at just 10 years old. Three years later, inspired by his father's memory and the pain of watching him go through treatment, Charlie started assembling chemo care kits filled with items that bring comfort and dignity to patients during their hardest days. What began as a small act of love has grown into a community-wide effort to make sure no patient faces treatment alone
